Scholarships

Iona Presentation College is proud to offer Academic, General Excellence and Music scholarships.

To benefit from one of these scholarships, students from Catholic, Independent and Government schools, whose values align with those of Iona, are invited to apply. A willingness to fully participate in the life of the College is an essential prerequisite. Academic Scholarships offer either a 25% or 50% reduction in College tuition fees.

Junior School Scholarships

Year 4, 2027 General Excellence Scholarship applications are open.

A scholarship will be awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding academic potential while embracing a broad range of Co-curricular opportunities. Successful applicants will be enthusiastic learners who consistently strive to achieve their personal best, whether in academic, sport, music, the performing arts, leadership or service to the community. They will be regarded by teachers and peers as positive role models – students of character, commitment, and integrity who contribute meaningfully to their school and exemplify what it means to be a true 'all-rounder'.

The 2027 scholarship will be open to students in Year 3 2026 - both current Iona students and external students.

The Scholarship recipient must supply the following documentation as part of their scholarship application:
  • A copy of Semester 2, 2025 and Semester 1, 2026 reports
  • A copy of 2026 NAPLAN results (when available - please provide prior to scholarship testing)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Baptismal Certificate (if applicable)
  • Up to date Australian Immunisation History Statement (downloaded from your Medicare account)
  • A Teacher or Principal reference
  • Proof of Australian Citizenship or Residency if parents and/or student was born overseas
  • Provide a handwritten letter from the student (no longer than one page) outlining:
    • Tell us about a time when you tried your best at something that was important to you. This could be at school, in sport, music, performing arts, helping others, or another activity you enjoy. What did you do, what challenges did you face, and what did you learn from the experience?

The test date will be held on Tuesday 11 August 2026. Details are below regarding the day.

  • Please arrive at the Junior School Campus, Buckland Avenue, Mosman park at 8.45am for a 9.00am start time.
  • The scholarship test will conclude at 10.00am.

Parent are invited to join a tour of our Junior School Campus whilst their child is sitting the scholarship test.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview (with their parents) in September 2026.

Successful applicants will be offered a remission of either 25% or 50% of Tuition Fees for Years 4, 5 and 6.

Senior School Scholarships

Scholarship applications for 2027 are now closed. Scholarships for 2028 will be opened in November 2026.

General Information Regarding Scholarships

Scholarship examinations for entry in 2028 will be held at the College in February 2027, and are facilitated by external examiners.

Any eligible student entering Year 7 or Year 10 in 2028 (including current students) is welcome to apply.

Students who perform well in their testing will be invited to an interview with our Principal in May to assist in the final selection.

Scholarships are awarded based on the interview and results of the Academic Assessment Services Examination. At the interview, the Principal will take into account the student's involvement in her own school and local community.

Candidates will be notified of the outcome in writing by early June.
