The da Vinci Decathlon
Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was one of the world's greatest thinkers and scholars. da Vinci demonstrated an ability to perceive the interconnected nature of knowledge and embraced learning with a lifelong passion and determination to uncover the unknown.
The Decathlon competition is designed to challenge and stimulate the minds of students and places a particular emphasis on higher order thinking skills, problem solving and creativity.
Students compete in teams of eight across 10 disciplines including, engineering, mathematics, code breaking, art and poetry.
This year we had teams in each of the four divisions. The girls devoured the opportunity to challenge their knowledge and preconceived ideas to apply these to the complexities of the problems offered on the day. All teams demonstrated great team work and fabulous results.
