Iona Presentation College

Sport

Iona is a member of the Junior Independent Girls' Schools' Sports Association (JIGSSA) and the Independent Girls' Schools' Sports Association (IGSSA), which offer regular co-curricular sporting competitions. This provides quality sporting opportunities for students participating at different levels of competition in the pursuit of a healthy, active lifestyle.

Junior School

As a member of JIGSSA, students from Years 4 - 6 compete in Interschool Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics carnivals, as well as Winter Games days for Hockey, Soccer, Cricket and AFL that are held during the school day. Competing in the JIGSSA competition prepares students for the IGSSA competition in the Senior School.

Students can also represent Iona at the Perth Netball Association and the Westside Wolves Hockey Club in teams that are coached by parents after school.

Senior School

The IGSSA Interschool competition in the Senior School is played regularly after school hours. Students are driven to matches in the College buses by the Physical Education staff and returned to school at the completion of the match. Students who find it more convenient to travel home from particular sporting venues may do so with parental consent.
