Presentation Night
In a night full of beautiful performances, incredible academic achievements and the acknowledgment of our amazing Class of 2023, the Iona 2023 Presentation Night was certainly one to be remembered.
Held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, the night commenced with the majestic musical performances of our College Orchestra, before the Years 10 and 11 Massed Choir joined them with their beautiful rendition of 'What About Us.'
Ms Miller, College Principal, addressed and welcomed the parents, guardians, staff and students in attendance. Alongside a wonderful dance performed by Eve McCarthy (9 Columba), Ms Miller invited students from each year group joined on the stage to speak on their interactions with the College's values. Alongside a parent and their Head of Year, each held a lantern, the symbol of the venerable Nano Nagle.
Amongst the various formalities of the evening, such as the giving of the academic prizes and announcement of the Year 12 Roll Call, were the moving performances of the Senior Festival Dancers, Years 7 to 9 Massed Choir and College Orchestra, perfectly encapsulating the phenomenal skills and talents of our Performing Arts and Music students.
Following a breathtaking Irish Blessing sung by the Presentation Night Choir, the Class of 2023 were farewelled amidst the poignant lyrics from Bird of Tokyo's 'Lanterns', sung by Olivia Chamberlain (12 O'Dowling), Lou Collier (12 O'Halloran), Olivia Koscak (12 O'Halloran) and Greta Lynch (12 Treacey).
Thank you to the College staff who helped make this night as beautiful as it was, and a special thanks and congratulations to the graduating Class of 2023. Your achievements throughout both this year and your academic journey at Iona are worthy praise and recognition. We know, much like the lyrics from 'Lanterns', that no matter where life takes you that you will use your bravery, tenacity, grace and passion to courageously light your own paths forwards.
We will be sending out the link for photos early next week.
