Future Problem Solving
The Future Problem Solving Program is an academically rigorous course aimed at developing analytical and research skills in the context of future global issues.
Future skills, creative thinking, analysis, research and communication are emphasised in the six step thinking process. The top 10 percent of students in Australia are invited to compete at the National Finals.
- Iona has been invited to the National Finals in 2010, 2012, 2013-2017. We have achieved in the top eight teams in all but one of these years.
- Iona Junior School were National Champions in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and represented Australia at the International Future Problem Solving Competition held in Iowa, USA, in June 2014, in Michigan, USA 2015 and in Lacrosse, Wisconsin in 2016.
- Our 2016 Iona team were invited to represent Australia at the 2017 International Conference in Houston, Texas and achieved 7th in the Global rankings.
